Q. How long between the day I order my kitchen and the day it is delivered? A. On average, after CAD is approved and deposit received, it will take about 8-12 weeks for you to receive your kitchen. Wood doors may add extra delivery time depending on manufacturer availability. We will do our best to meet this timeframe however there may be circumstances that cause an unforeseen delay. Avondale does not compensate for delayed timelines or homeowner meetings. Currently we are running approximately 12 weeks for delivery.
Q. How Long will the Installers be installing in my home? A. An average kitchen will take two days to install. The initial installation will be the first day, with a follow up appointment booked at a later date for any finishing touches. We aim to return within 3 weeks for the second visit.
Q. Do I need to be home for the installation? A. If you are not able to be home, please leave the door unlocked, or directions for the installers to enter your home.
Q. Will the installers clean up before they leave? A. The installers will do their best to leave your new kitchen neat and tidy, but you will still need to do a final wipe down.
Q. Do I need to remove my existing cabinets myself? A. Yes, you or your contractor will remove existing cabinets.
Q. Who will be installing my kitchen? A. Avondale's professional factory trained installers.
Q. When should we lay the new floors? A. Ceramic tile or glue down (non interlocking) vinyl plank can be installed before. One piece cushion and any type of interlocking (such as luxury vinyl click or laminate click) floor must be installed after kitchen installation. Avondale does not cover damage incurred to any flooring.
Prefinished Hardwood is best to lay after the cabinets, Avondale will leave the cabinets up the thickness of the hardwood flooring, so the installer can slip the flooring underneath a few inches. Medium to small islands, can be moved aside and reinstalled over the hardwood floor.
If installed before, floors must be completely covered with corrugated cardboard and masking tape it all seams
Hardwood finish on site-can be done before the kitchen cabinets, last final coat of finish to be installed after the cabinets are in.
Q. Who looks after the lights? A. Avondale provides electrical and plumbing prints for your contractor, Contractor-Supplies kitchen ceiling pot lights Avondale-Supplies over the counter and behind china cabinet glass LED low-voltage lighting as per quote Homeowneris in charge of purchasing your island/peninsula & dining table hanging ceiling lights
Q. Who pays for the plumber and electrician? A. The homeowner or contractor pays for these services.
PAYMENTS
Q. Is a deposit required? A. Yes a 50% deposit is required at the time your contract is signed.
Q. When do I pay my balance? A. Your full balance is required five (5) business days prior to delivery. Cabinets will not be unloaded prior to delivery payment.
Q. What type of payments do you accept? A. We accept cheque, bank drafts, e-transfers and cash. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards.
Q. What is included in my invoice amount? A. Product, Installation, Tax.
Q. Where is my kitchen made? A. Right here at our factory, in Jacksonville (Woodstock), NB.
Q. Can I make changes after the contract is signed? A. If your kitchen has not gone to production, you can make changes. If production has begun, you will be charged to original quote, for any changes made.
GRANITE/QUARTZ FAQ
Q. When do the granite/quartz countertops arrive? A. Typically 6-8 weeks after your kitchen is installed. Avondale will provide a temporary countertop during installation. Quartz timelines may be delayed depending on supplier timelines at the time of order.
Q. Is the granite/quartz sealed? A. Granite is sealed before it leaves the factory. Quartz does not require sealing.
Q. Will there be seams in granite and quartz? A. It depends on size. In an oversized area, larger than 9x5, there could be seams. Some colours can be slightly larger.
Q. Is granite/quartz included in my kitchen price? A. That option will be in your budget, estimated separately.
WARRANTY FAQ
Q. How long is my warranty valid? A. Avondale has a limited 1 year parts warranty. A warranty service call fee will be charged at $125.00 for labour/trip.

No finish warranty on painted wood cabinets
Due to humidity and weather changes, corian corners on seamless laminate counters will open and close. This can be filled, but may still re-open. You can see this in our countertops on our showroom floor. Although some corners may appear invisible, this is a seamed product and can open. Invisibility of seams is not guaranteed.
Regular wear and chips not included in warranty on painted/stained products and laminate counters.
Cabinets installed by others are not included in warranty
Door and drawer front adjustments, caulking etc are considered routine maintenance and are not covered under warranty.
Discolouration due to sun exposure, excessive heat or ventilation are not covered
Avondale does not pay for delays in schedule or meeting time with homeowners
Finish Warranty: Upon initial install any blemishes must be visible from a minimum of 2 feet in regular room lighting, in order to be repaired.
NOTE: If account is unpaid by contractor/insurance company, homeowner is held liable. No warranty will be provided for unpaid accounts, when full balance is not paid within 90 days of initial install.
FINISHING FAQ
Q. How will a tinctured finish hold up? A. Stained or painted tinctured cabinets have a softer finish and CAN scratch off over time. This is the nature of a tinctured cabinet and are subject to a limited one year finish warranty. Painted tinctured cabinets cannot be touched up later due to the finish.
Q. Can I do a custom colour? A. Custom Benjamin Moore colours can be selected and will be subject to a special order fee, starting at $2000/kitchen. The shade may be within 5% of the original colour, due to industrial mixing.
Q. Will there be router marks visible in an MDF routered door? A. There may be router marks, however in a light colour, these are not visible. In a darker painted finish, the marks may be more visible due to light reflection.
Q: Can I order appliance panels to match my cabinetry? A: If you have panel-ready appliances, Avondale can produce the panels to match your cabinetry for an extra charge, however we do not install the panels or appliances for you. This will need done by the homeowner/contractor/appliance supplier.
Q. Will my crown moldings crack at the ceiling? A. Crown to the ceiling can separate slightly, due to the natural shifting of your home. For this reason, Avondale does a matching brushable paint finish which makes for a finish that is in most cases fixable and repairable in the future.
Severe cracks 1/8 inch and more is typically caused by trust uplift. Trust uplift only happens in a small percentage of homes, this is a natural structural defect of the house rafters or ceiling joist, and it’s not covered under cabinet warranty by Avondale. In this case, Avondale can assess the structural defect and will quote a repair, starting at approximately $500-$800.00.
CCF Approvals: Hand drawings are an approximate representation, what is on CAD is what you will get. Previous discussions or items you may have seen in the Avondale showroom will not arrive if it is not in the specifications or CAD.
When looking at elevations/each wall section it is helpful to refer to floor plan and hand drawings at the same time.
For cabinet depth refer to upper left table of measurements. The insides will be 1/2" less and the outside will be 3/4" deeper.
Any changes after approved or upon arrival will be Quoted for additional cost.
SPECIAL NOTES: November-December: Busy season. During the months of November & December, we experience higher rates than usual of installs. In order to have as many homeowners moved in as possible, before the holidays, deficiencies may be delayed until after the new year, and some jobs may not be completed within our standard week time frame. Avondale does not compensate for delayed schedules or homeowner meeting time.
Misconduct: Avondale practices a zero tolerance policy regarding misconduct to our employees. If misconduct should occur, Avondale reserves the right to cancel contract and return any unallotted deposit funds immediately for unbuilt kitchens, or terminate any future warranty claims or calls for installed product.
